…even a seasoned beginner can accomplish this quilt. Instructions include a quick-piecing method for the center grid of the star blocks. Two additional color-way options are shown on the back of this pattern. This pattern makes a full/double size quilt but increasing the width of the borders or an addition of more borders easily increases this pattern to queen size.
I designed this quilt for a young man that was part of the group of swing-dancing teenagers that are friends of our daughter. It was his graduation gift in June of 2003. He is an exceptional artist, a painter. When I asked him about his favorite color, he told me he loved all colors and did not have a favorite. He also had a difficult time getting through a meal at our house without having it spilled down his shirt. Hence, the name of the quilt. Now, Will’s original quilt is the one done in vibrant colors with the black background. This pattern is however, so fun to make, I make it in 3 different color-ways. The one on the cover compliments my home the best. The pastel version is in honor of my Grandmother, Jessie Benson. She is a great quilter and loves to work with pastel colors.
